October 22 to November 29, 2002: The Innermost Brain
Recent developments in cognitive sciences and neurosciences concern self-awareness, thought, memory, wishes and desires. As with other fields of science and thought in the past, the challenge is to understand the brain, its capacity to adapt and its disorders. The brain is now seen in the context of a sensory, affective and cultural environment, and not only in terms of inner experience. Yet what do we actually know today about the relationship between the brain and our inner world?
