Man Transformed:
Recent developments in science and technology are changing our relationships to our own bodies and to others. Molecular sciences, digital technologies, robotics and real-time telecommunications entail new issues, raising new hopes-but also new fears. This exhibition centers on the questions of human identity and how it may evolve in view of the increasingly close symbiosis of the human body and mind with mechanical and electronic devices. "Man Transformed" addresses themes ranging from the reconstruction of damaged limbs and organs to the development of interactive networks at an individual level and the related emergence of a collective organism spanning the globe. The exhibition offers visitors a vision that associates science with dreams, myths and utopias.
