Memory is everywhere in our conscious and subconscious lives.
It is not only a collection of recorded information, but also
and primarily a working tool, a system that organises our behaviour.
In the unit devoted to memory, you are met by "walls"
of pictures and audiovisual terminals. Behind each wall of pictures,
a diagram illustrates the five main types of memory, which store
numbers, series of letters or images only for as long as we need
them, or lasting memories, whether these are experiences, symbols,
shapes and structures or acquired movements.
